These ratchet straps operate differently to most. The whole strap coils up into a role so you don’t have any lengths of spare strap to tie up and secure. Due to this, though, this means they are shorter than a lot of other straps. They are easy to operate and securely hold the load in place. The mechanism to release them is easy as well.

Although intended to tie down bikes on top of the trailer for camping, I've been using the Retractable Ratchet Straps to repair a couple of old chairs that came apart over time and were proving difficult to reassemble. Using the straps to bend the curved bar back into shape, a couple of clicks a day over the last 10 days, has enabled me to glue the bars back into the top rail and ressurect the chairs. Once glue was applied the straps were tightened both across the top bar to pull it back into shape, and pull it down toward the seat to ensure none of the posts slipped out. Can't fault it for its unintended use, and the hooks are a great fit on the tie-downs on the trailer.

Ich hab mir die einziehbaren Ratschengurte im 2er-Pack geholt, weil ich regelmäßig Ladung auf dem Anhänger oder im Kofferraum sichern muss – vom Rasenmäher bis hin zum Motorrad war schon alles dabei. Und ganz ehrlich: Diese Gurte sparen nicht nur Zeit, sondern auch Nerven. Das Einzieh-System ist einfach genial. Kein lästiges Aufwickeln oder Knotenlösen mehr – Gurt rausziehen, einhaken, festzurren – fertig. Nach dem Gebrauch einfach Knopf drücken und der Gurt rollt sich sauber auf. Gerade wenn’s schnell gehen soll (z. B. bei Regen oder unterwegs), ist das ein echter Gamechanger. Die Verarbeitung ist richtig stabil. Die Ratsche wirkt massiv und läuft sauber, nichts hakelt oder klemmt. Die Edelstahl-S-Haken sind ordentlich stark und mit einer Gummierung versehen, damit nichts verkratzt. Ich hab damit schon ein Motorrad festgezurrt – das Ding sitzt bombenfest, da wackelt nichts. Die Zugkraft mit 1500 lbs (ca. 680 kg) reicht für alles, was ich so transportiere, locker aus. Die 10 Fuß (ca. 3 Meter) Länge ist ein guter Kompromiss – lang genug für die meisten Anwendungen, aber nicht so lang, dass’s ständig im Weg ist. Egal ob im Transporter, am Anhänger oder auch mal im Kofferraum – die Teile machen einfach einen zuverlässigen Job. Fazit: Wer regelmäßig irgendwas sichern muss – ob auf dem Hänger, im Auto oder beim Umzug – diese selbstaufrollenden Zurrgurte sind ein echter Gewinn. Solide verarbeitet, super praktisch und absolut zuverlässig. Ich hab schon beschlossen: Beim nächsten Paar greif ich wieder zu. Klare Empfehlung!

Once I realized these are light-medium weight straps, they're not meant to compete with heavy-duty ratchet straps, a lot of my concerns dissipated. I was a bit unsure of how well these would work, but after using them a couple times to strap a canoe to the roof of my SUV, I can say these are legit. I love the convenience of the slack retracting into a coil. The spring for them to retract is strongish though I can imagine with repeated use or debris/dirt buildup on the straps it might not be firm enough to furl the slack but so far so good. I was also worried about the thinness of the straps. While I definitely have some doubts about pushing these to the advertised 1500lbs of force, they are sufficiently quality webbing. The steel of the hooks and ratchet mechanism all appear to be strong and high quality. I like that you have to switch it (unlock it) to switch to retract the slack meaning there isnot constant tension on the mechanism when under stress. Would I use these to tie a refrigerator into a truck bed for highway travel? No. But are they perfect for every-day securing of medium weight general items? Absolutely. and at $50, I think that's all they need to be and they are great for that use.
